I'm a passionate student, entrepreneur, and leader who believes in the power of innovation and collaboration to create meaningful impact. Through my journey from High Point to Chapel Hill, I've discovered that the most rewarding experiences come from combining technical expertise with strategic thinking, and using both to solve real-world problems that matter to people and communities.
From High Point to Chapel Hill and beyond
Hi, I'm Etornam Agbemabiese, Class of 2027 at UNC-Chapel Hill pursuing a double major in Business Administration and Computer Science. My journey began in High Point, North Carolina, where I developed a passion for leadership and entrepreneurship from an early age. Growing up in a community that valued hard work and innovation, I quickly learned that success comes not just from individual achievement, but from lifting others up and creating opportunities for everyone around you.
I thrive on exploring how innovative ideas and emerging technologies can create impactful solutions, drive efficiency, and unlock new opportunities across various industries. My experience spans from founding startups like Zellit Marketplace, a mobile-first platform helping college students buy and sell secondhand goods safely within their campus community, to Etornam's Green Clean, an eco-friendly cleaning and landscaping service that specialized in sustainable practices. Each venture has taught me valuable lessons about market research, customer relations, and the importance of building something that truly serves a need.
I believe in the power of collaboration and enjoy working with diverse teams to tackle complex challenges. Whether it's leading the UNC African Students Association as Vice President, contributing to the Minority Business Student Alliance, or participating in prestigious programs like DaVita's Redwoods Leadership Summit, I'm always eager to learn and grow. These experiences have shaped my understanding of what it means to be a leader - not just someone who gives orders, but someone who listens, learns, and helps others reach their full potential.
What drives me forward
What I'm passionate about outside of my professional life
When I'm not working on projects or leading organizations, I enjoy exploring new technologies, reading about entrepreneurship and business strategy, and staying active in my community. I'm passionate about mentoring other students and helping them discover their potential.
I believe in giving back to the community that has supported me. Whether it's through tutoring, volunteering, or participating in community events, I try to make a positive impact wherever I can.
I'm also fascinated by the intersection of technology and business, and I spend time learning about emerging trends in fintech, edtech, and sustainable business practices.
